WASTEWATER REPORT
Most clients simply want an economical solution for onsite effluent disposal.
Arcadia Environmental will require a site plan showing the features of the block (house, sheds, pools, driveways, rainwater tanks, granny flats, home based business and any retaining walls planned). Also, a floor plan showing the rooms and overall dimensions as a minimum.
With this information, Arcadia Environmental can design the most affordable wastewater solution possible.
We will make suggestions if something small can be altered on the site plan to achieve a more economical design.
After the preliminary design has been accepted, Arcadia Environmental allows one post-acceptance edit for free. Additional changes, an amendment fee may apply for the wastewater report.
The default design is surface spray irrigation, where permissible.
SEPTIC SYSTEM REPLACEMENT DESIGNS
If you are extending your property that is connected to a septic system, you will be required to have a new system designed to accommodate the additional input. Any additions that create a habitable room will fall into this category. Examples are a home extension, granny flat, liveable shed, extra shed / garage, tiny house, home based business.
The process is the same as the basic report. The details of the existing system will be plotted and recommendations will be made for the decommissioning of the septic system. Plus the conversion work for the new system will be detailed.
This is the ideal wastewater report if you are wanting to obtain multiple quotes for the project and want comparable prices back from your quoting plumber, drainers or builders.

Premium onsite disposal designs
CUSTOM ONSITE DISPOSAL INCORPORATING LANDSCAPING
This service covers designs where the basic system design is not possible and a more detailed solution must be found. Arcadia Environmental will advise if your design enters this category as a consequence of site factors.
Premium onsite disposal designs are available by request for clients wanting the design to be incorporated into the final landscaping plans of the property.
This design often evolves over time and requires liaison with trades as the build develops.
Arcadia Environmental offer three post-acceptance edits for this design, with additional changes attracting a small edit fee of the wastewater report.
Onsite effluent disposal may be used to irrigate plant beds. Detailed landscape plans are required.
PRE-PURCHASE AND INSURANCE ASSESSMENTS
Before purchasing or selling a home, the condition and estimated lifespan of the current onsite system can be a point of negotiation. The "conversion" to a wastewater system, if required soon after you've moved in, can be an unwelcome additional expense.
Whilst no guarantees can be given, an experienced person can ascertain the likelihood of issues arising in the short term.
